The project is undertaken by: AFRICA CLEAN ENERGY SOLUTIONS LIMITED (“ACES Renewables”) and Afrinol Holdings Limited (“AHL’’)
Afrinol Holdings Limited (AHL)envisages 10,000 Ha for the development of selected Crops and Livestock, while Sweet Sorghum being the main agricultural crop activity, Sunflower and soya bean will be planted as rotational crops for purposes of soil nutrient management. Sweet sorghum a multipurpose crop, targeting utilization of both the stalk and grain with the final products being Sorghum grain, Syrup and Bagasse. The products have multiple purposes including food, animal feeds, natural sweetness, beer manufacturing, and ethanol production. The bio waste will be used for the TBG power generation.

The project is located close to major infrastructure developments especially the LAPSET, SGR hence will provide baseload and grid stability through Garsen sub-station to the region.

The project offers the utilization of both biomass waste (biomethane gas) and solar. It develops a high impact agro‐industrial project that will facilitate economic growth and capital investment for wealth and job creation in Kenya.
The project also supports “Vision 2030” has other attendant benefits of improving livelihoods of the rural initiative of food and nutrition.
The project also undertakes large‐scale and sustainable agricultural production on selected enterprises for high investment returns to the company and farming communities in Tana River.
It also enhances high value addition through processing and on‐farm manufacturing for developing local industries and manufacturing sector thereby increasing employment and addressing food insecurity.
